Karelitz (Korelicze on official Belarussian maps; also known as Korelichi) is located in Belarus. Karelitz pop. 535, 101 km SW of Minsk, 53°34 N, 26°08 E. In tsarist times, it was part of the Province of Minsk.

During World War II Karelitz and its environs produced a fierce partisan resistance known as the Bielsky Brothers. Due to it proximity to the Pripet marshes, the local resistance had an advantage over the Nazis, who were not as familiar with the region.
